SMARTFIL® ASA – FILAMENT FOR OUTDOOR 3D PRINTING

• Printing temperature: 230–250 ºC. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
• Heated bed: Required at ~100 ºC. Improve adhesion with adhesives like Smart Stick.
• Cooling: Keep cooling fan at minimum (0–30%) to avoid delamination.
• Layer height: At least 0.2 mm for best quality.
• Storage: Keep in a dry, sealed environment. Moisture sensitive.

• Do I need an enclosed printer? Highly recommended. ASA benefits from a heated chamber or enclosure.
• Can it be sanded or post-processed? Yes. ASA can be sanded, painted, or smoothed with acetone vapors.
• Does it smell? Yes, but less than ABS. Print in a well-ventilated area.
• Will it fade over time? No. ASA maintains its color thanks to UV resistance.
• Is it better than ABS? Outdoors, yes. It offers improved UV/weather resistance and less warping.

COMMON ERRORS AND HOW TO FIX THEM

• Warping? Use brim, increase bed temperature, and avoid drafts.
• Delamination? Slow down speed, use an enclosure, and raise nozzle temperature.
• Poor adhesion? Use specific adhesives like glue stick, Magigoo, or BuildTak.
