Información del producto

CUSTOM MOLD: PET Thermoformed (food-safe) or 3D Master Part

At CREATEC 3D we turn your idea, logo or photo into a high-precision physical mold. Choose between a PET Thermoformed Mold (food-contact safe) or a 3D Master Part (positive) to create your own silicone or resin molds.

If you need to replicate a shape in small or medium runs, our service is faster and more cost-effective than plastic injection and more efficient than printing each part one by one. You will get a smooth surface finish, high level of detail and, in PET, food-safe contact. Ideal for premium packaging, custom chocolates, creative pastry, prototypes and presentation blisters.

Manufacturing options

Option 1 · PET Thermoformed Mold (food-safe)

  • Material: Transparent PET (polyethylene terephthalate), suitable for food contact.
  • Typical uses: custom chocolate molds (weddings, corporate gifts), pastry, candy trays, prototype blisters and presentation trays.
  • Maximum sheet size: 500 × 300 mm.
  • Usual sheet thickness: 0.5–1.5 mm (approximate; we recommend according to the application).
  • Advantages: ready-to-use mold, high repeatability, good rigidity and detail.

Option 2 · 3D Master Part (positive) to make your own mold

  • What you receive: a solid 3D printed part (the “core”/positive).
  • Typical uses: making your own long-lasting silicone or resin molds (soaps, candles, resin art, repeated castings).
  • Advantages: part optimized with proper draft angles, prepared for repeated demolding.

How to request your mold (step-by-step guide)

  1. Prepare your idea and dimensionsSend us an image, logo, 3D file (.stl, .step, .obj) or instructions. Indicate final dimensions (width × height × depth) and approximate quantities.
  2. Contact usWrite to info@createc3d.com or use our contact form.
  3. Assessment and quotationWe analyse complexity, size, level of detail and quantity. We will send you a detailed quotation for what you requested (PET mold or 3D master part).
  4. Production and shippingOnce you approve the quote, we manufacture the master part and start the thermoforming process if you chose PET. We will confirm the estimated lead time.

Custom pricing

The price depends on the size of the object or image to be customized, relief complexity and number of units.

  • 3D file modelling/clean-up or logo vectorization.
  • Volume and 3D printing time of the master part.
  • Material and number of PET sheets thermoformed (if applicable).
  • Final mold size and fine details (small text, sharp edges, radii).

Note: We only start production once you have approved the quotation.

Technical specifications and recommendations

File compatibility

  • 3D formats accepted: .stl, .step/.stp, .obj, .iges/.igs (we prefer STEP for precise parts).
  • Image/logo: .svg, .ai, vector .pdf; .png/.jpg (high resolution) if you don’t have a vector file.
  • Scale/size: Indicate final dimensions (mm) and desired relief/depth.

Main applications

  • Pastry and chocolatiers: logos on chocolate bars, custom chocolates, edible packaging.
  • Crafts and cosmetics: soaps, candles with relief, resin art pieces.
  • Product and prototyping: blisters, custom trays, trade show presentations.
  • Events and branding: corporate gifts, custom merch, weddings and celebrations.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between PET thermoformed mold and 3D Master Part?

PET is the final mold ready to use (food-safe). The 3D Master Part is the positive core you can use to make your own silicone or resin molds as many times as you need.

What is the maximum size I can order?

For PET, the maximum sheet size is 500 × 300 mm. If you need something larger, contact us to discuss panelizing or alternative solutions.

For 3D master parts we can reach almost one meter in length (depending on geometry).

What files do you accept and how should I prepare them?

We accept .stl/.step/.obj (STEP preferred) and logos in .svg/.ai. Indicate final dimensions and the desired relief (depth). If you only have a .png/.jpg image, we can vectorize and convert it to 3D (this may involve an additional cost).

How much does it cost?

The price is custom; it depends on dimensions and project type. We will send you a fixed quotation before starting production.

Is PET food-safe?

Yes, we use PET suitable for food contact. We recommend cleaning it before first use and between batches with warm water and mild soap.

How do I care for my mold?

Avoid abrasive tools and extreme temperatures. For silicone molds made from the master part, follow the manufacturer’s instructions (curing, demolding, release agents).

Do all images work? When is an image not a good candidate?

No, not all images are suitable. There are some limitations:

  • Very dark or blurry photos.
  • Images with too much very fine detail.
  • Pixelated or low-resolution images.
  • Backgrounds that blend with the main subject.
